Description of the Role

We are offering an exciting Apprenticeship Programme for an aspiring engineer to join our workshop team. This is a hands-on role where you will learn the skills needed to become a fully qualified Service Workshop Engineer, working on a range of specialist vehicles and equipment

You will receive structured training, mentorship, and real-world experience while working towards recognised engineering qualifications.

Responsible for (Duties)

As an Apprentice Service Workshop Engineer, you’ll be trained to:

  • Assist with routine servicing and maintenance of lifting equipment
  • Support LOLER inspections and safety checks
  • Learn to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic faults
  • Work on a range of vehicles (3.5T–17.5T vans, trucks, and access platforms)
  • Help with refurbishment projects within the workshop
  • Complete service and repair documentation
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop
  • Deliver excellent customer service

You will gradually take on more responsibilities as your skills develop.

We’re not expecting experience – just the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Essential qualities:

  • Strong interest in engineering/mechanics
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable, honest, and professional approach
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable Qualities (but not essential)

  • Interest or basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and a technical subject
  • Driving license
