Description of the Role
We are offering an exciting Apprenticeship Programme for an aspiring engineer to join our workshop team. This is a hands-on role where you will learn the skills needed to become a fully qualified Service Workshop Engineer, working on a range of specialist vehicles and equipment
You will receive structured training, mentorship, and real-world experience while working towards recognised engineering qualifications.
Responsible for (Duties)
As an Apprentice Service Workshop Engineer, you’ll be trained to:
- Assist with routine servicing and maintenance of lifting equipment
- Support LOLER inspections and safety checks
- Learn to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic faults
- Work on a range of vehicles (3.5T–17.5T vans, trucks, and access platforms)
- Help with refurbishment projects within the workshop
- Complete service and repair documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop
- Deliver excellent customer service
You will gradually take on more responsibilities as your skills develop.
Personal Specification
We’re not expecting experience – just the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Essential qualities:
- Strong interest in engineering/mechanics
- Good problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, honest, and professional approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills
Desirable Qualities (but not essential)
- Interest or basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and a technical subject
- Driving license
